Company Profile
Fibre optic businesses have been operating at our Witney premises since 1994. Since then the company
evolved, first into JDS Uniphase, then Afonics and finally Advanced Fibreoptic Engineering Ltd.
In June 2005 Advanced Fibreoptic Engineering Ltd was formed after a management buy-out. AFE achieved
profitability in its first month of trading, and has continued to grow ever since.
Maintaining good customer and supplier relationships continues to be an important part of our success. The
business has grown steadily with sales doubling, whilst ensuring that we have maintained good cash flow and
avoided debt.
We recognise that the experience and commitment of all our staff is essential to our continuing success and
have recently started working towards the Investors in People Standards.
We have continued to develop our original components business and alongside that have developed and
expanded our engineering capability to offer design and manufacture of larger, integrated fibre optic
systems. We are continually looking outwards for new market opportunities whilst ensuring that we
support all of our existing customers.
